Jada's Hair

I have such a hard time with Jada's hair.  It is very fine, straight and thin.  If I don't pull it back, it's constantly in her face and looks very messy, even if it has just been combed.  I try to keep the front part of her hair in a french braid to keep it out of her eyes.  If I do a tight enough braid it will stay in for a few days. That works well for us.
I decided to try something different today, a french crown braid.  It turned out OK considering it was the first time I have ever really tried something like this with her hair.  I can see where I went wrong.  It's going to take some practice to make it look good.
She was such a little trooper, she held very still the whole time.

Back to Dairy Free

Ever since I gave Jada some yogurt, I have been struggling to get her eczema under control.  It keeps getting a little worse every day.  I have made the decision to go dairy free again.  This should clear the eczema right up in about a month, unless she has developed a new allergy. Now I am trying to figure out what exactly I cooked all those months we were dairy free.

Jameson is the gruntiest little baby.  He grunts when he is stretching, waking up, going to sleep, sometimes when he is just laying there, when he is moving around, when he wants to change sides when nursing, and sometimes when somebody touches him.  It's the craziest thing. I really need to get it on video.

Exciting things from this week

Jameson is smiling now!  He is starting to smile in response to our smile.  This is the earliest any of the kids have smiled. See previous post for a picture of him smiling.

Juliet loves cleaning her babies faces off with a wipe.  It is really sweet.  She likes running around the house  growling at people to try to scare them. Sometimes she starts laughing so hard when she is running she almost falls over. I put some left over newborn diapers on Juliet's dolls, and when she goes to change the diaper she waves her hand in from of her face and says "PU WOOS".

Jada, oh Jada.  My wild and crazy child. She is into everything lately.  Let's just say we had to make a call to poison control.  She is fine.  She thought she needed more vitamins.

This is how I felt when I saw the vitamin bottle opened
Josiah has been busy being a little boy, playing with trains and cars, and being a big helper. He really likes the table map.  I am able to mark on it with dry erase markers so we can take "trips" all around the US.  I would like to get him his own road atlas for the car so he can follow along as we drive and get a sense of how long it takes to get from point A to point B.
He is rolling the ball around in the basket as fast as he can.

The Many Faces of Jameson

Awe, Sleeping like a baby!

Has your hair always been that color?

No, I haven't had my milk this morning. Why do you ask?

I don't understand a word you're saying.

Watch out!  I know Kung Fu!

I joke....it's Taekwondo!

Is there a fly on the end of my nose?

Wait for it...

You're boring me.  I must sleep now.

Jameson and the hospital paperwork mistake

We received Jameson's birth certificate form and social security card.  On both the birth certificate form and the social security card his name is wrong.  The birth certificate is easy to fix, however the social security office wants three forms of ID for Jameson before they will fix it.
When I gave the hospital the forms for all this, his name was right.  So instead of Jameson, they put James on everything.  What a mess.  If the hospital can't fix this, then I am seriously considering leaving his legal name as James.
Everything else is going well. Everyone is doing great!

Table Map

I got this idea out of a magazine. I put a large map on my table, and I then covered it with thick plastic.  We purchased the plastic from the sewing section in Wal-Mart.  You can get it in whatever length you want.
You could also do a map of the human body, the planets, or whatever it is you are studying at the time.

Four Weeks

Jameson has officially grown out of his newborn cloths.  I packed them up this week to be given away. *sigh* He is growing so quickly. We should be seeing his first real smile with in the next couple of weeks.  That is always very exciting.  He is starting to get congested at night again. He is clear during the day though.
We are still in hibernation mode.  Penny aka Grammy has been doing my grocery shopping.  Justin is the only one that leaves the house.  We don't want to risk Jameson getting the flu, we hear it is pretty bad this year.

Juliet is starting to get more teeth this week.  Yesterday, she was chewing on her fingers, her little cheeks were red, and she was super grumpy.  She seems to be a little better today, but it's still early.

Jada has been helping me more in the kitchen.  Grandma gave her the Sassafras Little Cook Kid's Kitchen Tool kit. (Try and say that 10 times fast) She loves it. She now has her own measuring spoons and cups, whisk, wooden spoon, spatula and a few other things that I can't remember right off hand.

Jada just woke up and is getting dressed for the day.  Clearly I have not fixed her hair yet. I like how her eyes look all doe eyed though.

It has been really nice to watch Josiah play with both Jada and Juliet. He loves pulling Juliet around in the cloths basket. It's really cute. Jada and he can play together for hours.  Its neat watching the unique relationships starting to develop.

Thirsties Duo Wrap Cover-Size 1

Thirsties Duo Wrap size 1 is my favorite cover to use while my babies are still infants.  I prefer the aplix over the snap.  I feel like I can get a better fit with the aplix. I use these paired with the Flip Infant Stay Dry Inserts.

Notice how the aplix has a pocket to help hold insert.

Three Weeks

Jameson is three weeks old!!! His cheeks are starting to fill out, and he is staying awake longer. I can't think of much to say today, so I will say it in photos. Here are some memories from this week.

Just woke up with crazy hair

That's a chocolate almond milk beard you see

Memories from this Week

Oh how quickly Jameson is growing!  We weighed him last night, and he is already 9 pounds!  He has already grown out of some of his new born outfits. He is still a pretty good baby.  We had a couple of nights where I was up half the night with him.  I think it was from what I was eating. He is doing better now.

We have been having such nice days Jada and Josiah have been spending a lot of time outdoors.  Josiah especially loves being outside.  Jada usually comes in long before he does.  It's nice when they are outside, because there seems to be less fighting.

In all it has been another great week.  I love being a Mama!
